Replacement Steps for Smart Key Fob
Locate the release button on the back of your key fob. Press it to slide out the emergency metal key blade.
Use the key blade as a pry tool. Insert it into the seam along the edge of the fob and gently twist to separate the two halves of the case.
Remove the old battery. Note the orientation — the positive (+) side typically faces up. A small flathead screwdriver can help pop it out.
Insert the new battery with the positive (+) side facing the same direction as the old one. Press firmly until it clicks into place.
Snap the case back together. Align both halves and press around the edges until you hear it click shut. Slide the emergency key back in.
Test all buttons — lock, unlock, trunk, and panic — to confirm the new battery is working properly.
